Terms and conditions of HSBC's Revolution programme

HSBC's Revolution programme

  1. To be part of the HSBC’s Revolution programme (“HSBC’s Revolution”), you are required to apply for the HSBC’s Revolution credit card, and register for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore’s (“the Bank”) personal internet banking. Eligibility for HSBC’s Revolution is subject to the eligibility criteria for HSBC’s Revolution credit card. Application for the HSBC’s Revolution credit card is subject to approval by the Bank in its absolute discretion. The Bank reserves the right to in its absolute discretion disqualify any applicant from HSBC’s Revolution without giving any reason. 
  2. The main communication channels for HSBC’s Revolution are short message services (SMS) and electronic mail. You will not be able to opt out of such communication channels. If you have previously opted out from such communication channels, you are deemed to have withdrawn that instruction once you sign up for HSBC’s Revolution and your HSBC’s Revolution credit card is approved.
  3. Once you become an HSBC’s Revolution customer, you will receive the statements for all your accounts with the Bank, including both sole and joint, in electronic form. No paper statements will be mailed to you. This applies to your existing accounts as well as other products, services and privileges provided to you by the Bank in the future. You have to register for personal internet banking immediately to access your account details and transaction history online. All outstanding amounts on your accounts and credit cards with the Bank, and all fees and charges imposed by the Bank, including without limitation late or overdue charges will be reflected in your electronic statements.
  4. If you have not registered for personal internet banking, the Bank will (but is not obliged to) send you an SMS reminder every month informing you of your outstanding balance and the payment due date for each of your HSBC credit cards and/ or personal line of credit account. However, your obligation to register for personal internet banking remains unchanged.
  5. The Bank’s approval of your HSBC’s Revolution credit card application does not guarantee its approval of other facilities/products offered under HSBC’s Revolution.
  6. As an HSBC’s Revolution customer, you will enjoy exclusive offers under HSBC’s Revolution. These offers may be subject to change from time to time. Once you take up these offers, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions governing these offers.
  7. If you cancel your HSBC’s Revolution credit card, all your HSBC’s Revolution privileges will be withdrawn. However, you will continue to receive electronic statements for all your accounts with the Bank unless the Bank receives your written instruction to do otherwise.
  8. Existing HSBC’s Personal Line of Credit customers who have successfully applied for the HSBC’s Revolution credit card will enjoy the preferential interest rate for their Personal Line of Credit as indicated under HSBC’s Revolution, within 7 working days of receiving approval for their HSBC’s Revolution credit card.
  9. Existing HSBC’s Personal Line of Credit customers who have successfully applied for the HSBC’s Revolution credit card are not entitled to the two years annual fee waiver.
  10. Existing HSBC's Personal Loan customers who have successfully applied for the HSBC's Revolution credit card will not be entitled to the Personal Loan benefits under HSBC's Revolution.
  11. To enjoy the privilege of TravelSurance Plus, please enter “REV” as the affinity code at the point of application. No refund will be made subsequent to the application if you omit this affinity code. Travel has to commence no later than one month from date of enrollment. An administration fee of S$25 will be charged for cancellation of policy after it has been issued.
  12. For Life Manager Plus, no voluntary policy cancellation or premium reduction is allowed within the first policy year of the insurance plan(s). Should the insurance plan(s) be voluntarily cancelled or altered by way of premium reduction within the first year, the Bank reserves the right to claw back the one-month premium waiver
  13. For Monthly Investment Plans, discounts are offered in the form of bonus units. Discounts are not applicable for the initial investment amount. The Monthly Investment Plan amount cannot be more than the initial investment amount. Not all funds are eligible for Monthly Investment Plans. Please refer to the eligible list of funds the Bank distributes on Monthly Investment Plans. Product terms & conditions apply. Promotion mechanics are subject to changes without notice at any time
  14. Terms and conditions or policy wordings for other products/services/privileges under HSBC’s Revolution will be provided to you separately either upon application or approval and/or will be available at HSBC’s website www.hsbc.com.sg. These include, without limitation:
    • Personal Internet Banking;
    • Personal Line of Credit;
    • Personal Loan;
    • ePowerVantage;
    • TravelSurance Plus;
    • Life Manager Plus;
    • Monthly Investment Plan
  15. HSBC reserves the right to review and vary the terms and conditions for HSBC’s Revolution from time to time and impose a fee where applicable. In addition, HSBC reserves the right to suspend, freeze, terminate and/or close any account or the use of any products, services or privileges without assigning any reason whatsoever and with or without notice to you.
  16. You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, the Bank’s Terms and Conditions Governing Personal Deposit Accounts and all other prevailing terms, conditions, rules or regulations governing the products, services and privileges made available by the Bank to you from time to time.
  17. Without prejudice to the generality of Clause 13 above, as an HSBC’s Revolution credit cardholder, you are bound by the terms of the Bank’s Cardholder’s Agreement as amended from time to time. Provided however that as (i) written statements and (ii) supplementary cardholders are not features available to the HSBC’s Revolution customer, provisions in the Cardholders Agreement relating to written statements and supplementary cardholders will be amended accordingly. Specifically, references to statements or monthly statements shall mean the electronic form of statements made available to you in the Bank’s personal internet banking and references to ‘supplementary cardholders’ will not apply.

Welcome gift

  1. In order to qualify for the welcome gift, the Accountholder must sign up for HSBC’s Revolution programme (“HSBC’s Revolution”).
  2. The welcome gift of a free pair of movie tickets will be in the form of 3,000 rewards points, which will only be paid out when the Accountholder has received approval for his/her HSBC’s Revolution credit card application and successful registration of his/her HSBC's personal internet banking.
  3. Rewards points awarded under HSBC’s Revolution will be credited to the Accountholder’s HSBC’s Revolution credit card account within 30 days after the HSBC's Revolution credit card is approved and successful registration for HSBC's personal internet banking. These Rewards points are non-transferable and cannot be split between two or more HSBC credit card accounts.
  4. Accountholder who cancelled his/her HSBC's Revolution credit card within the last 12 months will not be eligible for the welcome gift.
  5. HSBC reserves the right to change the welcome gift and vary the terms without prior notice.

Redemption of Rewards points

  1. The Accountholder can redeem Rewards points for any goods, services or other privileges that are featured in HSBC credit cards Rewards programme or as HSBC may determine from time to time.
  2. The Accountholder agrees to be bound and limited by the terms and conditions governing the HSBC credit cards Rewards programme, which is available on www.hsbc.com.sg.

Visa payWaveTM transactions

  1. The first transaction on the HSBC’s Revolution credit card (“the Card”) should be a non-Visa payWaveTM transaction.
  2. The Card may be used to carry out card transactions at all Visa point-of-sale terminals and at such other readers or systems as the Bank may from time to time approve. The first card transaction on the Card shall be subject to such activation and authentication procedures as the Bank may in its sole and absolute discretion prescribe from time to time.
  3. As an additional usage avenue for the convenience of the Cardholder, the Bank has also made arrangements for Cardholders to use the Cards to effect card transactions at Visa payWaveTM readers. A Visa payWaveTM reader is a point-of-sale device at which the Card may be used to execute card transactions, either by tapping the Card against the reader or by waving the Card on a contactless basis over or against such reader, without requiring any signature, PIN or other authentication on the part of the Cardholder.
  4. A Cardholder may use the Card to effect any number of card transactions on Visa payWaveTM readers (“Visa payWaveTM Transactions”) so long as the value of each Visa payWaveTM Transaction does not exceed S$100.
  5. Any usage of the Card at any Visa payWaveTM reader, if permitted by the Bank, shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the Bank and Visa may agree from time to time.

HSBC Credit Card Lucky Draw for HSBC Women's Champions 2009

  1. To qualify for the HSBC Women's Champions 2009 Lucky Draw (the "Lucky Draw"), all HSBC Platinum and HSBC's Revolution credit card applications must be submitted with full supporting documents between 12 am on 3 December 2008 and 11.59 pm on 23 January 2009 (the "Promotion Period") and approved by 10 February 2009.
  2. Only primary accounts of newly approved HSBC Platinum or HSBC's Revolution credit cards will qualify for the Lucky Draw.
  3. Existing HSBC credit cardholders are not eligible for this promotion.
  4. Customers who cancelled their HSBC credit card(s) within the last 12 months are not eligible for the Lucky Draw when they re-apply for HSBC credit cards during the Promotion Period.
  5. 150 eligible HSBC Platinum or HSBC's Revolution credit cardholders (the "Winners") will be randomly selected on 18 February 2009 at 60 Alexandra Terrace, #03-02, The Comtech Lobby A, Singapore 118502 (or on such other date or at such other venue as may be determined by HSBC) to receive one complimentary 4-day season pass (worth S$60) to the HSBC Women's Champions 2009 (the "Prize").
  6. Winners will be notified and will receive their Prize via normal mail to the last known mailing address (based on HSBC's records) by 25 February 2009.
  7. Each Winner consents to HSBC disclosing and/or publishing his/her name and his/her particulars in any manner which HSBC deem fit for publicity purposes.
  8. HSBC reserves the right to draw reserve Winners to replace any person subsequently found to be disqualified.
  9. Information collected from this Lucky Draw may be used by HSBC. Participants may receive promotional news, service updates and other information about HSBC's products and services via e-mail or telephone call. If the participants do not wish to receive such news, updates and information, the participants may inform HSBC in writing accordingly.
  10. Employees from HSBC, its subsidiaries and affiliated agencies will not be eligible for this promotion. In addition, HSBC has the right to exclude anyone from this promotion in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
  11. HSBC may at its sole discretion substitute or replace the Prize with any other prize of equal or similar value without prior notice. The Prize is not exchangeable for cash, Rewards points or other rewards from HSBC.
  12. HSBC is not the supplier of the Prize and accepts no liability for the quality of the goods and/or services provided by the organizer involved.
  13. HSBC reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, and to suspend, or withdraw any of the offers without prior notice at any time.
  14. In the event of any dispute, HSBC's decision shall be final and no further correspondence will be entertained.

Online Promotion for X-miniTM MAX Capsule SpeakerTM

  1. To qualify for the online promotion for X-miniTM MAX Capsule SpeakerTM the “Promotion”), all applications for the HSBC’s Revolution credit card must be submitted online at www.hsbc.com.sg/hsbc.revolution between 12.00am on 18 November 2008 and 11.59pm on 31 January 2009 (the “Promotion Period”).
  2. The first 500 applicants will receive the X-miniTM MAX Capsule SpeakerTM (strictly on a first-come-first-served basis), if they submit the following documents within three days from the date of the online application and on the basis that their HSBC’s Revolution credit cards are approved by 15 February  2009:-
    • Photocopy of NRIC (for Singaporeans) or Passport (for foreigners);
    • Latest computerised payslip/ latest 6 or 12 mths CPF contribution history statement/ Notice of Assessment 2008 ; and
    • Letter of instructions.
  3. Details of the redemption of the X-miniTM MAX Capsule SpeakerTM will be set out in the redemption letter issued by the Bank. The redemption letter will be issued within one month after the approval of the HSBC's Revolution credit card and is valid for two months from the date of issue (the “Redemption Period”).
  4. Singaporeans/ Foreigners have to present their NRIC/ Employment Pass with their redemption letter upon redemption.
  5. HSBC is not a supplier of the products or services provided by the participating partner involved in this Promotion and will not accept any liability in relation thereto.
  6. The offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions, discounts, loyalty programmes or festive packages.
  7. HSBC and the participating partner reserve the right to replace the products or services of an equal or lower value at any point of the Promotion Period or the Redemption Period.
  8. The offer is not exchangeable for cash, bonus Rewards points or other rewards from HSBC.
  9. Redemption letters that are lost, misplaced, damaged or redeemed are strictly non-replaceable.
  10. The Bank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In case of dispute, the Bank’s decision is final.
