  1. What is The Choice Card?
    Through an alliance between Dairy Farm Singapore and HSBC, the existing Cold Storage private label card known as the Cold Storage Card will be replaced with The Choice Card. The Choice Card offers cardholders the privilege of charging their purchases from Cold Storage, Giant, Guardian, Photo Finish, Market Place, Jasons The Gourmet Grocer, G’Value, Handifix and online at www.coldstorage.com.sg.
  2. Where can I use The Choice Card?
    The Choice Card offers can be used at the Dairy Farm Singapore stores named above as well as for online purchases at www.coldstorage.com.sg

Earning rewards points with The Choice Card

  1. What are The Choice Card benefits?
    You will enjoy one Rewards point for every S$1.00 you pay with The Choice Card. These Rewards points are accumulated with the Rewards points you earn with your credit card from HSBC. You can redeem for Cold Storage vouchers, other shopping and dining vouchers and a host of other merchandise and benefits.

    You will also enjoy payment flexibility. You can make a minimum payment of 3% or S$50 whichever is higher.

    You will also enjoy monthly specials at Dairy Farm Singapore stores.
  2. Will I earn Rewards points on my HSBC credit card for purchases made with The Choice Card?
    Yes. You will earn one Rewards point for every S$1.00 charged to The Choice Card since all charges are posted to your credit card account with HSBC.
  3. What is the validity period of the Rewards points?
    Your Rewards points are valid up to THREE years.
  4. Can I get an update of my HSBC credit card Rewards points balance at any participating Dairy Farm Singapore stores?
    No, your Rewards points will be reflected on your monthly HSBC credit card statement. You may also check via our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline on 1800-227 8888 or visit our web site at www.hsbc.com.sg
  5. Why does The Choice Card have to be issued together with HSBC credit card?
    The credit limit on The Choice Card is the combined limit shared between all your HSBC credit cards and The Choice Cards. This arrangement offers you the convenience of a consolidated statement and the flexibility of paying the total amount due (credit card and The Choice Card) each month or a minimum of 3% (partial payment).

What happens to the Cold Storage Card

  1. I am a Cold Storage card cardholder. Will I still be able to use my card after I apply for The Choice Card?
    Your Cold Storage card will no longer be accepted after 31 January 2004. You should start using The Choice Card when you receive it. You will need to settle your remaining balances with Cold Storage directly before 31 January 2004.
  2. What will happen to my existing Cold Storage card?
    Your existing Cold Storage cards and any supplementary cards that you may have will no longer be accepted at any Dairy Farm Singapore stores after 31 January 2004.

How to apply?

  1. I do not have an HSBC credit card. How can I apply for The Choice Card?
    You need to be a credit cardholder of HSBC in order to enjoy the benefits of The Choice Card. You can apply for an HSBC credit card together with The Choice Card by picking up an application form from any HSBC branch, or Dairy Farm Singapore stores. Alternatively you may call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline on 1800- HSBC NOW (4722 669) or visit our web site at www.hsbc.com.sg and apply online.
  2. I am an existing HSBC credit cardholder. How can I get my own The Choice Card?
    The Choice Card is available to existing individual credit cardholders from HSBC. Pick up an HSBC credit card application form and fill in The Choice Card section. These forms are available at all participating Dairy Farm Singapore stores; HSBC branches, online at www.hsbc.com.sg or call our 24-hour Customer Service Hotline on 1800-HSBC NOW (4722 669) for a form to be sent to you.
  3. Can I apply for The Choice Card supplementary cards?
    Yes, you may opt for up to two supplementary cards.
  4. Does The Choice Card come with a separate annual membership fee?
    No, The Choice Card does not carry any annual membership fee. The Choice Card is one of the many privilege programmes that are exclusive only to HSBC credit cardholders.
  5. Can I continue to use The Choice Card if I do not wish to keep my HSBC credit card?
    No. The Choice Card will be cancelled if you close your HSBC credit card account.
  6. Can I keep my HSBC credit card if I close The Choice Card account?
    Yes, you can continue to use your HSBC credit card.
  7. Can I apply for The Choice Card without applying for a HSBC credit card?
    No, The Choice Card comes with the HSBC credit card.
  8. Will there be a PIN issued for The Choice Card?
    No. There will be no PIN issued for The Choice Card as there will be no PIN based transactions. You are only required to sign for your purchases.
  9. Will The Choice Card have any expiry date?
    The Choice Card is valid for three years from the date of issue. It will be renewed automatically if you continue to be a credit cardholder from HSBC.

Paying your Bill

  1. Will I receive a separate statement for The Choice Card?
    No, The Choice Card transactions will be posted on your designated HSBC credit card statement of account. HSBC offers you the convenience of consolidated billing and payment.
  2. How do I pay for purchases put onto The Choice Card?
    Transactions from The Choice Card will be billed to your HSBC credit card statement. They will be paid off when you pay your credit card bill at any branches from HSBC, all HSBC’s automated teller machines in Singapore, HSBC’s online transfers, AXS Stations and other payment channels permitted by HSBC. You may also opt for Interbank GIRO.
  3. Will my existing standing payment instruction (GIRO) arrangement with Cold Storage be transferred to HSBC?
    No, your previous payment arrangement with Cold Storage will NOT be transferred to HSBC. You will need to sign up for a new arrangement with HSBC using the GIRO forms available at all HSBC’s branches for settlement of your card account.
