This Promotion is valid from 28 October 2008 to 31 December 2008 ("Promotional Period"), both dates inclusive.

The promotional time deposit interest rates are applicable to a 6-month tenor on Singapore Dollar ("SGD"), US Dollar ("USD"), Australian Dollar ("AUD") and New Zealand Dollar ("NZD") time deposits ("Promotional Rates").

"T" being the placement date of the deposit, AUD and NZD deposits will be valued on T+1 working day. USD and SGD deposits will be valued on T-day.

The minimum placement amount is $50,000 in the respective currencies (SGD/ USD/ AUD/ NZD) and in multiples of $1,000 thereafter. The maximum placement amount is $1,000,000 in the respective currencies (SGD/ USD/ AUD/ NZD).

All deposits must be made during the Promotional Period with fresh funds only using non-HSBC cheque(s) and/or cashier’s order(s). Transfers from existing HSBC Bank deposit accounts or via HSBC cheques, cashier’s orders or demand drafts are not permitted.

There may be a gain or loss when you convert foreign currency. Customers are advised to make independent judgment with respect to any matter contained herein.

Only personal/individual accounts are eligible.

11.

No interest (whether at the Promotional Rates or otherwise) will be payable on the deposit if deposit placement is not held to maturity.

12.

Upon maturity of the time deposit placement(s), the principal and interest amounts will renew at the Bank’s prevailing time deposit board rates for the respective tenors, unless other maturity instructions are provided by the account holder.

13.

This Promotion is not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated.

14.

HSBC may, at its discretion, vary, delete or add to any of these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to varying the Promotion Period and Promotional Rates, or withdraw this Promotion at any time without notice or assuming any liability to any customers.

15.

Terms and conditions governing personal deposit accounts will apply.

Under the provisions of the Deposit Insurance Act 2005 (the "Act"), Singapore dollar denominated deposits with HSBC held by individual depositors will be insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation Limited for up to the limit specified in the Act.

‡ Shopping voucher offer is not applicable for investments made under Central Provident Fund Investment Scheme. HSBC reserves the right to deduct the face value of the shopping voucher from the refund premium or requests for a cash payment if the customer cancels the policy by exercising the 14 days free-look period, reduces the regular premium contribution or surrenders the regular premium insurance policy within twelve months from inception.

¶ To become an HSBC Infinity customer, a minimum of S$100,000 or equivalent in deposits, investments and/or insurance is required.

HSBC's "Weekend Specials" Lucky Draw (the "Draw") is only open to Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents aged 21 years old and above.

The Draw is not open to employees of HSBC and its subsidiaries.

3.

Customers who invest under the Central Provident Fund Investment Scheme ('CPFIS') are not entitled to participate in the Draw.

To qualify for Draw, each customer must purchase a regular premium (the "RP") or single premium investment linked plan (the "SP ILP") at HSBC's Orchard Central branch roadshows on either of the following dates and times:
- 1 November 2008, 2-7 pm
- 15 November 2008, 2-7 pm
- 22 November 2008, 2-7 pm
- 6 December 2008, 2-7 pm

Lucky draw chances are allocated according to the below tiers:
- RP of S$250 to S$499 or SP ILP of S$25,000 to S$49,999 - One chance
- RP above S$500 or SP ILP above S$50,000 - Two chances

The Draw will be conducted on 29 December 2009, 10am at 60 Alexandra Terrace, #03-01, The Comtech, Lobby A, Singapore 118502.

Four winners will be picked to win a Sony Home Theater System DAV-DZ150K each and one winner will be picked to win a Samsung Home Theater System HT-TX22.

The winners of the Draw will be notified by telephone and mail within two weeks of the Draw date.

The name of the winners will also be posted on HSBC web site at www.hsbc.com.sg from 29 December 2008 till 31 January 2009.

Winners will be required to acknowledge the prize and verify their mailing address by post or e-mail before 31 January 2009.

The prizes will be delivered to the customer by 28 February 2009.

The winner must return the prize in it's original condition and/or make cash reimbursements if the cost of the prize redeemed should he exercise the 14 days free-look, reduce his premium contribution, or surrender his policy plans within (12) twelve months of inception for regular premium policies.

HSBC reserves the right to replace any winner(s) subsequently found to be disqualified.

The prize is not exchangeable for cash.

HSBC reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, and to suspend, terminate, or vary the prizes without notice at any time.

HSBC's "Weekend Specials" Lucky Draw is registered by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited ("HSBC").

HSBC's decision on all matters relating to HSBC's "Weekend Specials" Lucky Draw shall be final and no correspondence will be entertained.

Information collected through HSBC's "Weekend Specials" Lucky Draw may be used by HSBC. Participants may receive promotional news, service updates and other information about HSBC's products and services via e-mail or telephone call. If a participant does not wish to receive such news, updates and information, the participant may inform HSBC in writing accordingly.
