The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited ("the Bank") allows you to use your HSBC credit card ("card") at an ATM. If so, we will issue you a PIN. We can change, de-activate or revoke a PIN at any time and need not notify you beforehand. You can use your card to obtain cash advances from the card account.
We do not warrant that an ATM will always have money available and are not responsible for any loss suffered because money is not available at an ATM for any reason whatsoever.
Money is at your risk from when it becomes visible or available to you at an ATM.
Use of an ATM is subject to our ATM terms and conditions. We may impose a limit on the amount you can obtain at ATM on any one transaction or day.
You can use the card in combination with your PIN to obtain cash advances from any ATM subject to limits set by the Bank. Cash advances are debited to the card account.
When you use the card and PIN at an ATM, you authorise the Bank to act on the instructions entered into the terminal. If it is not possible to carry out the instructions you give through an ATM or on the card account, the transaction will not be accepted.
Card transactions effected in currencies other than Singapore dollars (for Singapore dollar cards) or US dollars (for US dollar cards) will be debited to your credit card after conversion into SGD or USD respectively at an exchange rate determined by VISA/MasterCard on the date of conversion, plus an additional percentage levied by the Bank and any transaction fee(s) charged by VISA/MasterCard to the Bank.
The cash advance fee per transaction is 5% of the amount withdrawn or $15, whichever is greater. Finance charge will be levied at 2% per month on the amount withdrawn from the date the transaction is posted to your account until the date where payment is made in full or the next statement date, whichever is earlier.
The maximum cash advance request amount is S$6,000 per card per day. The amount of cash you may obtain from your card is subjected to a limit imposed by the Bank in relation to the status of your account. The limit on your cash advance withdrawals will be reviewed and revised by the Bank from time to time without prior notice to you.
The Bank will not process the cash advance request if your card account is not maintained in good standing or not conducted in a proper or satisfactory manner as determined by the Bank at its sole discretion.
The Bank reserves the right to decline any cash advance request without assigning any reason. The Bank will not be liable for any charges, overdue payments or interest incurred by you due to the rejection of or delay in processing the request.
No cancellation or change of cash advance withdrawal amount will be allowed after submission of the cash advance request.
HSBC Rewards points will not be awarded for the approved cash advance request and any subsequent finance charges incurred. All Rewards programme terms and conditions apply.
Payments made to your HSBC credit card account are applied in the following order of priority, namely, interest charges, late charges, annual card membership fees, cash advances, fund transfer amount and any other outstanding balances on your card.
The terms and conditions contained herein are in addition to the HSBC Cardholder Agreement, which shall continue to apply.
Cash advance via phone
All USD cards, Corporate cards and Co-brand/Affinity cards are not eligible for this facility.
Only primary credit cardholders are eligible to the cash advance via phone facility. The maximum cash advance request amount is S$6,000 per primary card per day.
This facility will only be available for payments to banks that accept the Bank's mode of payment.
Processing time differs from bank to bank and the Bank will not be liable for any losses suffered due to any delays in processing time.
Primary credit cardholders authorise the Bank to follow and act on all instructions from the primary credit cardholder when identified by security questions and the Bank shall not be liable for acting upon these instructions in good faith. The Bank shall neither be liable for acting upon such instructions nor be obliged to investigate the authenticity of such instructions or verify the accuracy and completeness of such instructions. Such instructions shall be deemed irrevocable and binding upon the cardholder upon the Bank's receipt notwithstanding any error, fraud, forgery, and lack of clarity or misunderstanding in respect of the terms of such instructions. The Bank shall be entitled but shall not be obliged to verify any instructions given via phone facility by calling back or any other means.
Primary credit cardholders accept full responsibility and agree to be liable for all requests made via the cash advance phone facility whether or not made with the primary credit cardholders' knowledge and authority. Primary credit cardholders agree to waive all rights and remedies against the Bank in respect of all losses, damages and claims howsoever caused arising from or relating to the provision of this facility.
The Bank reserves the right, at any time, to terminate all or part of this facility without providing any reason therefor and informing the primary credit cardholder thereof.
