Transfer money via GIRO with online@hsbc

We are pleased to inform you that you would be able to transfer money from your HSBC account to another bank in Singapore via GIRO free of charge. Money transfer via GIRO made before the daily cut-off time* would be available to beneficiary within 3 working days, subject to receipt of the receiving bank. Should you require to transfer money within the same working day, you can transfer money via MEPS at S$5 per transfer. Here are the steps to transfer money via GIRO.

Step 1 - To transfer money from your HSBC account to another bank in Singapore via GIRO, click on "Make A transfer" and select "Transfer to another bank in Singapore".

Step 2 - Please note that you can only transfer money via GIRO from an account in Singapore Dollar. Select GIRO in the drop-down list for method of transfer.

Step 3 - Enter all relevant details and click on "Transfer", "Save", or "Transfer & Save". In the "Account number" field, please enter the branch code of the receiving bank followed by the account number, without any spacing or hyphen. For example, 001234000567.

Step 4 - Review the details of your transfer. Check that the method of transfer is indicated as GIRO. If the information is correct, click on "Confirm" to proceed.

Step 5 - To proceed with the request, press the button on your security device and enter the corresponding six digit security code here.

Step 6 - The acknowledgement page confirms that your transfer request has been submitted successfully. Make a note of the transaction reference number for your own record.

* For cut-off time of different transactions, please log on to online@hsbc and click on "Cut-off Times" on the left menu.

Future Transfers

Step 1 - To view your future GIRO transfer, click on "Future Transfer" on the left menu. Under "Account", click on the drop-down list and select the debit account which you have set up for future transfer.

Step 2 - Click on the drop-down list and select "Transfer to another bank in Singapore".

Step 3 - Click on the drop-down list and select "GIRO".

Step 4 - Select the date range or click the "Go" button. A list of future GIRO transfers will be displayed. Click on the date of transfer to view the details of the transfer. You may change or delete the selected future GIRO transfer.
