Unit trusts
Unit trust offer you the opportunity to diversify and broaden your portfolio across different asset classes, sectors and countries. This means that you can
spread the risk a single investment type may carry. You can also invest in local or overseas markets that are normally inaccessible to an individual
investor. We offer a wide range of funds, managed by reputable fund houses, to maximise potential returns and diversify risk in both local and
international markets.
We understand that choosing a fund that suits your risk and return appetite from the wide array of funds available in the market is not easy. This is why we have compiled HSBC Worldwide Funds Service which features top-performing funds, based on a proprietary and objective fund selection methodology, which considers both qualitative and quantitative factors.
Dual Currency Plus
HSBC's Dual Currency Plus is an investment that offers you the potential to earn higher returns through investing in a currency-linked option. By selecting a currency pair you are comfortable with and indifferent to holding, it allows you to take advantage of exchange rate movements to earn potentially higher returns. In exchange for this enhanced return, you will give the bank the right
to repay your investment and returns in either the base or linked currency at maturity, depending on exchange rate movements in respect of the currency pair.
Structured deposits
In addition to traditional investment options, we offer a comprehensive range of structured products, linked to different underlying financial instruments,
such as interest rate, currency, equities and indices to meet your investment views and portfolio diversification needs. They can provide potentially more attractive returns compared to traditional deposits. Structured deposits are available periodically when new tranches are launched.
Enhance notes
We also offer mid to long-term investments comprising traditional debt instruments that link returns to the performance of selected financial instruments. New tranches of enhanced notes will be launched periodically to meet your needs of regular income and potential growth in capital.
Bonds
Bonds offer regular fixed interest payments over the life of the bond and potential capital gains from appreciation of the bond’s market value.
Government and corporate bonds from around the world, with different tenors and denominations in major currencies, are available with a minimum investment of S$200,000+ or equivalent.
One-stop bonds service, including bond sourcing, custody, dividend collection, and redemption at maturity is also provided for our HSBC Premier customers.
*Under the provisions of the Deposit Insurance Act 2005 (the "Act"), Singapore dollar denominated deposits with HSBC held by individual depositors will be insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation Limited for up to the limit specified in the Act.
On 16 October 2008, it was announced that the Singapore Government will offer protection under a guarantee of up to S$150 billion for all Singapore dollar and foreign currency deposits of individuals and non-bank customers in banks, finance companies and merchant banks licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. This guarantee will remain in place until 31 December 2010. Media reports have stated that the Singapore Government guarantee does not cover structured deposits and pledged deposits. Accordingly, dual currency investments, structured deposits and deposits which are pledged, charged or secured as collateral are not covered by this guarantee.
# Available only in time deposits.
+ Bonds issued by statutory boards are available with a minimum investment of S$10,000.
