Online Password Reset

Overview

As part of our continuous efforts to bring you greater convenience, we will introduce an Online Password Reset Function from 16 September 2007. With this new system enhancement, you can reset your password online instantly by answering questions with answers preset by you.

Online Password Reset

Online password reset allows you to reset your new password online without the need to submit any forms to the bank for processing. You only need to log on with your Username/Internet Banking ID and security device authentication and provide the correct answers to your security questions presented by you via Internet Banking.

User Guide

How to use

  • From 16 September 2007, you will be prompted to do a one time set-up of your password security questions and answers when you log on to online@hsbc.
  • Choose your preferred security questions from the set of questions available.
  • Provide the correct answers to your chosen questions. These answers will be required from you when you perform an online password reset in future.

How to reset your password

  • You can click on “Forgotten your password” after inputting you username to reset your password instantly.

How to change

  • You can change your security questions and answers in Internet Banking under Services >> Change Password Reset Questions.
  • You can also change your security questions and answers by submitting a signed “Password Reset” form to us.
