Some of us may envision retirement as a time to relax and live life at a leisurely pace. Others may prefer to have a more active lifestyle like being involved in charity work or start a business and be entrepreneurs for the first time.
As we live longer lives, the need to plan for retirement has become increasingly important. More and more people acknowledge that financial independence is crucial in their later years, especially as traditional views of relying on the family for financial support and care may be increasingly challenged in today’s modern world.
Half of Singaporeans aged 65 can expect to live beyond age 85. Male life expectancy is 79.3 years and Female life expectancy 84.1 years, the Life expectancy of Singaporeans has increased by 20 years over the last 53 years.
