Fees and charges

Enjoy 0% interest on your monthly instalments. A promotional processing fee applies. The amount depends on the instalment period you choose:

3-month period: 0% for a Premier qualified customer[@premier-qualified-customer] or 3% for a Personal Banking customer
6-month period: 3%
12-month period: 5%

As an example, let's say you bought a new laptop for SGD1,800 with your HSBC credit card. You use Spend Instalment to manage your purchase over a 12-month period. Here's how much you'll need to pay:

One-time processing fee: SGD90 (5% of the transaction amount)
Each monthly instalment: SGD150

What you need to know about Spend Instalment Plan

Who can apply

To apply for a Spend Instalment Plan, you must be the primary cardholder of an HSBC credit card. Spend Instalment Plan is not applicable to USD credit cards and corporate credit cards.

Eligible transactions

You can select any posted retail transaction (including overseas transactions) made within the last 30 days. Requests must be submitted before the statement billing date.

Minimum amount

Up to 10 eligible transactions (minimum SGD200 each) may be selected and combined into one Spend Instalment plan. The minimum plan amount is SGD500.

Yes, if you apply via the HSBC Singapore app, you can combine up to 10 transactions into one instalment plan. Each transaction must be at least SGD200. Your total instalment plan amount must be at least SGD500.

But if you apply through our other channels, you won't be able to combine transactions into one instalment plan. Instead, you must place a single transaction of at least SGD500.

For monthly instalments which are billed to your account, 100% of the monthly instalment will be included in your minimum payment calculation.

A termination charge of SGD100 will be imposed for early repayment, any change to the instalment tenure, or termination of the instalment plan.

No, your credit limit will not be affected when your transactions are converted to Spend Instalment Plan.

Yes, you can apply for a Spend Instalment Plan on each HSBC Credit Card. If you have an existing Spend Instalment Plan, you may also apply for another Spend Instalment Plan on the same HSBC Credit Card.

You can make your Spend Instalment plan repayments through any of the following channels:

Standing instructions
Interbank GIRO
HSBC Singapore app
HSBC Online Banking
HSBC cash deposit machines or ATMs
Transfers from non-HSBC accounts
AXS machines

We'll process the deduction based on your statement account balance. Let’s say you’ve applied Spend Instalment to a transaction. If that transaction is already shown in your statement, the instalment for it will be in your next statement cycle.

Your account might show as being in credit balance in its next statement cycle. This may be due to the full transaction amount being reversed, less the instalment amount.

Yes, you will still be eligible for your HSBC Reward points for transactions converted to a Spend Instalment Plan. Please note that HSBC Reward points will not be awarded for any processing fee and / or administrative charges incurred.
