How to see your virtual card details

Step 1: log on

Log on to the HSBC Singapore app.

Step 2: select the card

Select the credit card account you want to see the details for.

Step 3: view details

Select 'View more' then 'Card details'.

Step 4: view your card verification value (CVV)

Select 'View' beside the 'eye' icon to see your CVV.

Security tips for your card details

Your credit card details are completely secure as they can only be accessed when you log into the HSBC Singapore app.

Only you can see your credit card details, if you're a primary cardholder. Supplementary cardholders won't be able to use this feature. Please make sure you view your details discretely and in a secure environment.

The cardholder name, card number and expiry date will be visible when you see your credit card details on the app. The CVV is hidden for added security.

For security, when using your card online make sure you're protected through services like Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

When you report your card as lost or stolen, we can issue you new card details to use right away.

This way, you won't have to wait until your physical credit card arrives by post. Simply log on to the HSBC Singapore app, and retrieve your new card details instantly.

Frequently asked questions

You don't need to apply for a virtual card, it's automatically issued when your card is approved. You don't even need to activate your virtual card before using it.

The standard replacement card process is applied. Your card number will be changed when a replacement card is issued.

Before using your card details virtually, you need to unhide the CVV number in the HSBC Singapore app. You can do this by viewing the card details and then pressing and holding the 'eye' icon next to the CVV field.

If you've used your card details in the app and your transaction is still declined, it may be because you are trying to make a limited transaction type. Until you activate your physical card, you can only carry out secure online transactions through schemes like Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can't perform other transactions like phone payments until you activate your physical card.

If you can't load your card details on the HSBC Singapore app, go back to 'Home' and try again. If the problem persists, please let us know. You can find ways to get in touch with us on our Contact us page.

If you get a network connection error, please check your internet connection and try again.

We encourage you to activate your physical card once you get it. This way, your credit card is kept secure and you can enjoy all of its benefits.

If not, you'll only be able to make some transactions. These are limited to online transactions through Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, Apple Pay and Google Pay online transactions.
