This scholarship reflects HSBC's purpose of opening up a world of opportunity and our continued commitment to education. It provides SGD25,000 to eligible students pursuing undergraduate study in the UK with greater confidence.

This scholarship is funded by HSBC, in collaboration with British Council Singapore.

Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by 31 October 2026, 11:59pm (Singapore Time, GMT+8).

Who is eligible for this scholarship?

  • Be completing or have completed A-Levels, the IB diploma, or an equivalent diploma qualification at a Singapore-based institution
  • Demonstrate strong academic results, leadership potential and community impact
  • Hold an unconditional offer for an undergraduate programme from a UK university, or be a current undergraduate studying at a UK university

How to apply

Application window is open from now till 31 October 2026

Step 1: Apply

Submit the application form and supporting documents via email to hsbcscholarship@hsbc.com.sg.

Step 2: Initial screening and interview

Shortlisted candidates will be notified at least 2 weeks in advance to attend an in-person or online interview.

Step 3: Scholarship award

Successful candidates will be notified by email typically within 8 weeks from date of interview though this may vary. To receive the scholarship funds, candidates will need to open an HSBC Everyday Global Account[@ega-scholarship-fund-terms].

  1. This HSBC Scholarship Programme (the "Programme") is brought to you by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ("HSBC").
  2. Applicants must meet the stated eligibility criteria and submit a complete application with all required supporting documents by the closing date / time. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  3. The application must be completed and endorsed by both the applicant and the applicant's parent / legal guardian.
  4. Recipient(s) of the scholarship will be selected at HSBC's sole discretion from eligible applications. HSBC's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  5. HSBC is under no obligation to award any scholarship(s), even if an applicant meets the eligibility criteria. HSBC may amend, suspend, replace or withdraw the Programme and / or these terms and conditions at any time, subject to applicable law(s).
  6. Scholarship amount is SGD25,000 and non-transferable. HSBC will require proof of enrolment and / or fee payment before disbursement.  
  7. HSBC shall have the right to cancel and / or recover the award, and / or require any amount to be returned to HSBC if any part of the application, eligibility, or supporting information or document is found to be false, misleading or incomplete and/or any of the terms and conditions is breached or not complied with.
  8. Not open to employees of HSBC, any group entities of HSBC Holdings plc in Singapore, and British Council (Singapore) Limited (and their immediate family members) , nor to the immediate family member of any of the scholarship panelists.
  9. Personal data will be collected, used and disclosed to administer the scholarship (including verification, selection and award communications) in accordance with applicable Singapore data protection laws and HSBC's Privacy Policy.
  10. HSBC Singapore may announce the outcome of the scholarship and publish the recipient's information (name / initials, scholarship details and / or photographs) via such platform or media and in such manner as it may require.
  11. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HSBC Singapore won't be liable for any loss or damage (direct or indirect) arising from or in connection with participation in the Programme.
  12. The Programme may be affected by events beyond HSBC's reasonable control, and HSBC shall not be responsible for any such events.
  13. Any tax liability arising from the scholarship will be borne by the recipient.
  14. The scholarship recipient shall ensure that the scholarship award is used in a manner that does not breach any prevailing applicable laws or regulations.
  15. The scholarship recipient hereby consents to HSBC using their data and details for the purpose of publicity in relation to the programme and / or HSBC Global Education.
  16. The applicant must not be receiving or expecting to receive any other scholarship, sponsorship or financial support in any form or howsoever described.
  17. From time to time, HSBC has the right to request more information or document(s) if it deems necessary in relation to the application or from the scholarship recipient on the use of the scholarship award (but HSBC shall not be responsible for the manner in which the award is used).
  18. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.
