Enrollment for banking and loan email statements

How can I enroll for email statements?

Please note that email statements are only available for sole name accounts.

I have received notification (via mail/email/SMS) from the Bank that my statement will be converted from paper to email statement. I would still prefer paper statement. What should I do to continue to have paper statement?

Yes. Please choose either of the options below:

  1. Opt out of email statement by using our online form. 
  2. Complete and send us the hardcopy form provided with our mail notification.

I have received notification (via mail/email/SMS) from the Bank that my statement will be converted from paper to email statement. I want to receive email statement. What should I do next?

Please ensure that your email address is correct per our records. Thereafter, no other action is required. You will receive your first email statement from the date mentioned in our notification.

How can I provide or update my email address?

To protect your account, your instruction can only be submitted through secured channels. You can:

  1. Mail a hard copy form with your signature. Please ensure that you use the same signature that you have used to open your account.
  2. Submit your instruction via our phone banking service (After being PIN verified).
  3. For Online banking registered customers, update your email address through the "update email address" option in Online banking (choose Statements & Advices then Bank Account eStatement and eAdvice Setup page) or through the Online banking secured email.
  4. Alternatively Online banking registered customers, can also update your email address through (choose Services then Update Personal Information page).

Once enrolled for email statements, will I still receive paper statements? Can I have both paper and email statement?

If you are currently receiving paper statement and have received our notification on the enrolment, you will receive both until August 2017. From September 2017 you will only receive email statement.

I have multiple accounts with the Bank. Can I request for email statements for one account and paper statement for the other?

No. Once enrolled for email statements, ALL banking and loan accounts under the same customer number will be on email statements. Your customer number can be found at the top of your current statements. This is only applicable for sole named accounts.

I did not receive any communication from the bank on the conversion of paper statements to email statements. I am not on Online banking but I am interested to receive my statements via my email address.

You can still sign up for email statement. Alternatively, you can sign up for HSBC’s Online banking and opt to receive eStatements through Online banking.

I am receiving eStatements via Online banking. Can I sign up for email statement as well?

Yes. After enrollment for email statements, you will be able to view eStatements in Online banking and receive email statements at your registered email address with the Bank.

I have registered for Online banking but have not enrolled for Online banking eStatement. Can I sign up for email statement?

Yes. You can sign up for Online banking eStatement through Online banking. Once enrolled for email statement, all your sole accounts, composite, loans and credit card (where applicable) statements will be on eStatement and you will no longer receive paper statements anymore.

Can I request for email statements to be sent to more than one email addresses?

No. For security purposes. The bank will send your banking and/or loan account email statements to your single email address registered in our systems.

I do not want to receive email statements anymore. How can I revert to paper statements?

You can do so via either of these options below:

  • Call the HSBC contact centre on 1800-4722 669
  • Fill out the below online form
  • If you are a Online banking customer, log on to Online banking and go to Statements & Advices then Bank Account eStatement and eAdvice Setup page to change the option.

I have submitted my request to receive statements via paper. Why am I still receiving email statement for credit card?

To opt out for credit card email statements please fill out the online form below.

I have submitted my enrolment form for email statement. Will I receive any notification to notify me when HSBC will start sending my statements to my email?

We will process your enrolment form for email statements upon receipt, and you will begin receiving statements via email starting from the following month. There will be not be any further notification.

I am receiving my credit card statement via email statement, will I now receive one email with all statements attached or multiple emails?

You will receive separate emails for your credit card statement and account statement.

How can I update my email address for receiving credit card and account statements?

Mail a hard copy form with your signature. Please ensure that you use the same signature that you have used to open your account.

This will update all your accounts with the Bank.

How can I differentiate between credit card email statement and account eStatement?

The subject title of the credit card will indicate the credit card type while the subject title for account will indicate the account type.

Sample subject title for account email statements.

  • Subject: HSBC Premier Bank Account Statement for 999-xxxxxx-999
  • Subject: HSBC Premier Composite Statement for Customer ID 999-XXXXXX
  • Subject: HSBC Loan Account Statement for 999-xxxxxx-999
  • Subject: HSBC Bank Account Statement for 999-xxxxxx-999
  • Subject: HSBC Composite Statement for Customer ID 999-XXXXXX

Can I sign up for email statement for Joint Account?

No. Email statement is only available for your sole accounts, composite statements, loans, and credit cards.

I have passed the deadline indicated in the letter to opt-out of email statements. But I still want to opt out. When will this be effective?

The opt out of email statement will take place next month.

Troubleshooting for banking and loan email statements

I did not receive my email statement this month. Can you resend the email statement to my email address again?

You should ensure that your email address is correct per our records. Please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 to verify your email address. If your email address is correct, you will be able to receive your email statement starting from next month.

For this month the bank will arrange to resend a copy of paper statement to your mailing address as per our records. There will be no charges applied for resending paper statements to you.

However, if your email address in our records is incorrect, we will resend a copy of your paper statement to your mailing address instead. Please update your email address.

I have accidentally deleted the email containing the pdf Statement. Can the bank resend the pdf statement to my email address again?

No. We are unable to resend the email statement. Please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 or your Premier relationship manager and the bank will arrange to resend a copy of paper statement to your mailing address as per our records. There will be no charges applied for resending paper statements to you.

I have enrolled in email statement for more than a month already. Why have I not receive eStatement in my email?

These are the possible reasons:

  • Check your junk/spam mailbox. If the email is in your junk/spam mailbox, Please ensure that emails from HSBC are not marked as junk/spam.This can be done by adjusting your email settings/options. For further assistance, please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669.
  • Your email is invalid/unavailable. A paper statement will be sent to your mailing address. To receive email statements, please update your email address.
  • Your mailbox is full. A paper statement will be sent to your mailing address. To receive your email statements on time, please ensure your mailbox is cleared regularly.

I cannot view my email statements via my smart phone or tablet.

The attachment is in PDF format which can be viewed using the "Adobe Reader" application. You will need to download or update the relevant software or application to use "Adobe Reader".

I have recently reported my wallet as stolen. I have since received my new National Registration Identity Card or passport. What should I use as the password to open the attachment?

Please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 for assistance.

I received a letter which indicated that my enrollment for email statement is rejected due to incomplete information/irregular signature etc. How do I proceed to register for email statement?

You can sign up for email statement again. 

I have more than one account with HSBC and I signed up for email statements last month. I have just received multiple emails with similar subject. I am not sure which eStatement belongs to which account.

The subject title of the email will indicate the account type (e.g. banking, composite and loan) email statement is for. If you have more than one account, the subject title will indicate "composite".

My email statements are sent to my spam/junk mailbox, what should I do to resolve this?

Please ensure that emails from HSBC are not marked as junk/spam. This can be done by adjusting your email settings/options. For further assistance, please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669

Can I deactivate my eStatements option via Online banking since I already have email statements sent to my registered email address?

No. You will continue to receive your statements via email and Online banking.

Can I request for the resend of my email statements from previous months?

No. Alternatively you view previous month's statements via Online banking.

I received an email statement that does not belong to me. Why is this so? Will my email statement be sent to another person by mistake?

Your statement attached in the email is password protected and only the authorised customer will be able to open and view the statement. If you receive an email statement by mistake, please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 immediately.

Can I change the password to open my statement in the email?

No. The password cannot be changed.

I received the bank's letter which informed me I will receive both paper and email statement for a few months. Can I opt NOT to receive paper statement right away?

No. You will continue to receive both paper and email statement until August 2017. In September 2017 you will no longer receive paper statements.

Why are some of the information in my email statement marked as "XXX"

For security purpose the Bank has masked certain information in email statement. However you can retrieve the unmasked statements via Online banking.

Enrollment for credit card email eStatements

How can I enroll for credit card email eStatement?

You can choose one of the following options:

  1. Complete and submit the hardcopy eStatement enrollment form at any of our local branches.
  2. Download the form from our website www.hsbc.com.sg/ways-to-bank/electronic-statements/
  3. For Online banking registered customers, you can enroll via Online banking under Statements & Advices then Credit Card eStatement Setup page.
  4. Call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669.

I have received notification (via mail/email/SMS) from the Bank that my statement will be converted from paper to email statement. I would still prefer paper statement. What should I do to continue to have paper statement?

Yes. Please choose one of the following options (as may be relevant to you):

  1. Complete and submit the hardcopy form provided with our mail notification.
  2. Follow the link provided in the email notification and complete the online form.
  3. Follow the instruction provided in the SMS notification.

I have received notification (via mail/email/SMS) from the Bank that my eStatement will be converted from paper to email eStatement. I want to receive email eStatement. What should I do next?

Please ensure that your email address is correct as per our records. Thereafter, no other action is required. You will receive your first email eStatement from the date mentioned in our notification.

How can I provide or update my email address?

To protect your information, your email address can only be submitted through secured channels. You can do any of the following:

  1. Mail a hard copy form with your signature.
  2. For Online banking registered customers, update information through the "update email address" option in Online banking (choose Statements & Advices then Credit Card eStatement Setup page) or through the Online banking secured email.

Once enrolled for credit card email eStatements, will I still receive paper statements? Can I have both paper and email eStatement?

No. Once enrolled for email eStatements, you will not receive paper statements. You may only choose to have either paper or email eStatement.

I have two credit cards. Can I request for eStatements for one card and paper statement for the other?

No. Once enrolled for email eStatements, this will apply to ALL credit cards under your account(s).

I did not receive any communication from the bank on the conversion of paper credit card statements to email eStatements. I am not on Online banking but I am interested to receive my credit card eStatements via my email address.

You can still sign up for credit card email eStatement. Alternatively, you can sign up for Online banking and Online banking eStatements (where you will also receive eStatements via Online banking secured email).

I am receiving eStatements via Online banking. Can I sign up for email eStatement as well?

Yes. After enrollment for email eStatements, you will be able to view eStatements in Online banking as well as receive email eStatements at your registered email address with the Bank.

I have registered for Online banking but have not enrolled for Online banking eStatement. Can I sign up for email eStatement?

Yes. You may sign up for Online banking eStatement and/or email eStatement through Online banking. Once enrolled for email eStatement, this will apply to all your credit cards and you will no longer receive credit card paper statements.

Can I request for email eStatements to be sent to more than one email addresses?

No. The bank will send email eStatements to one email address registered in the bank’s system for security purposes.

I do not want to receive email eStatements anymore. Can I revert to paper statements?

Yes, if you would like to opt out of email eStatements, please fill in the online form below.

I did not enroll for email eStatement but I received an SMS which indicated that I've enrolled for email eStatements.

Please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 for assistance.

Troubleshooting credit card email eStatements

I did not receive my email eStatement this month. Can you resend the eStatement to my email address again?

You should ensure that your email address is correct as per our records. Call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 to verify your email address. If your email address is correct, we can arrange to resend your email eStatement.

However, if your email address in our records is incorrect, we will resend a copy of your paper statement to your mailing address instead. Please update your email address. 

I have accidentally deleted the email containing email eStatement. Can the bank resend the email eStatement to my email address again?

Yes. Please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 and the bank will arrange for the email eStatement to be sent to your email address as per our records. We will be able to resend your email eStatements for the past 3 months. For statements dated beyond 3 months, we will send the paper statement to you.

Example: Today is 24 July 2014. HSBC is able to resend your email eStatements dated 24 May 2014 onwards. For email eStatements dated 23 May 2014 or earlier, the bank will send the paper statements to you.

I have enrolled in credit card email eStatement for more than a month already. Why have I not receive email eStatement in my email?

These are some possible reasons:

  • Check your junk/spam mailbox. 
  • Your email address is invalid/ unavailable. A paper statement will be sent to your mailing address. To receive email eStatements, please update your email address.
  • Your mailbox is full. A paper statement will be sent to your mailing address. To receive your email eStatements on time, please ensure your mailbox is cleared regularly.
  • There was no transaction on your credit card for the month. Therefore no statement has been generated.

Can I request for resend of my email eStatements from previous months?

Yes. 

I received an email eStatement that does not belong to me. Why is this so? Will my eStatement be sent to another person by mistake?

The eStatement is password protected and only the authorised customer will be able to view the eStatement. If you receive an email eStatement by mistake, please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 immediately.

Can I change the password to open my eStatement in the email? I don't think the current password is secure enough.

No. The password cannot be changed.

If I have a Visa & Mastercard under the same account, what is the password to open the attachment?

Please call our contact centre on 1800-4722 669 for assistance.

I only have the email with my eStatement and I would like to access my credit card statement. Can you please provide me with information such as my password to do so?

For security reason, the bank will not be able to provide you with information to access your email eStatement over the phone.

I have received my email eStatement resent from "estatementnumber@hsbc.com.sg" (Example: estatement23@hsbc.com.sg). Is it a legitimate email from HSBC?

This is a legitimate email from HSBC.
